Self-Esteem Issues
Lack of self-esteem, whether directly or indirectly almost always makes a presence to one degree or another. Even when it is not part of the initial complaint overtly, it often is noticeable on an underlying basis.
Self-esteem deficits may arise in a variety of ways including, addiction or compulsion, negative thinking patterns about one's self as discussed with EMDR, as a symptom of depression, or from some other source.
Whether it is a primary or secondary focus of attention, all interventions will identify factors that negatively impact self-esteem in order to alleviate them, and to improve functioning, and quality of life.
