Anger Management
Anger management has become a commonly used term within both the mental health community, and popular culture. Excessive anger is a type of raw, irrational emotion that seriously impairs our judgment and decision making ability.
While anger is a normal, human emotion, we should not look to extinguish it completely. Mild to moderate anger can be beneficial as it can provide signals about ourselves, or the problems we may be confronting. Therefore, using our anger as a tool can be a way of increasing self-awareness, and solving problems.
The focus here will be to train the individual to develop an intuition, or inner voice that pays greater attention to such signals. Again, precipitants and consequences will be considered in order to gain insight into excessive anger, and to devise permanent interventions that ensure improved functioning and quality of life.
